Kansas City Chiefs Acknowledge Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise released a comment Wednesday night indicating they are aware of claims of abuse circulated in online accounts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver the athlete and had been in communication with the NFL.
The organization did not mention Rice by name in their statement and noted they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that seemed to depict indicators of bodily harm. She did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.
Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Player's Recent Off-Field Troubles
The receiver was absent for the first six games of this NFL campaign due to an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a multi-vehicle accident on a Dallas highway that left several individuals injured. Rice was sentenced 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to felony charges.
On the field, he concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City went 6-11 and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a ten-year span.
