Comedian and author David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Best-selling writer for children and entertainer David Walliams has been dropped by his longtime publishing house, the company has said.

A representative for the company commented: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK will not be releasing any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The company did not confirm the reasons for its decision, noting: "We refrain from speaking about private personnel issues."

An Illustrious Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over more than 60 million copies worldwide in five dozen languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins back in 2008.

Some of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles in total, including a holiday title titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His career breakthrough occurred on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
